Understanding Concussion

Concussion silently and slowly cripples a person’s ability to live a full and active pain-free life.

Concussion does not discriminate against age, gender, activity or lifestyle choice. A head knock or mild brain trauma can happen at any time, anywhere and in any situation.

Concussion takes time to heal. Often, people return to a healthy, active life before their brain has recovered from the impact of a concussion. A return too early, or ‘pushing through their threshold’ may cause on-going issues to their health and wellbeing.  (too much exercise, too little exercise or too much mental stress such as cell phone or computer use or trying to concentrate for too long when the brain is not ready).  Studies have shown that this can add months on to recovery times.
