What is CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that may help to release tensions deep in the body which may relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.

It was pioneered and developed by Doctor and Osteopath John E. Upledger, following on from 2 other Cranial osteopaths, after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where Dr Upledger served as Professor of biomechanics.

Using manual soft touch, practitioners help release restrictions in the cranial bones and other vertebrae so that they can move more freely, as well as the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system around the skull, spine and down to the sacrum. Patients remain fully clothed during the treatment.

CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to help bolster resistance to disease. It is also highly effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

MIGRAINES:

“My husband heard about Gill and made the appointment for me, saying anything is worth a try, rather than having to suffer with the headaches/migraines. After two treatments with Gill I noticed an immediate change – to be able to wake in the morning without the feeling of my head going to explode was just heaven. Now, when I feel the pressure coming on, I use the checklist Gill gave and notice the difference. It is certainly a treatment I would recommend.”
