Workshops

Reiki, Qigong, and Feldenkrais Complement Cranio-Sacral Therapy.

What makes these Reiki, Qigong, and Feldenkrais workshops even more powerful is how they can partner beautifully with my main practice of CranioSacral therapy. I teach Qigong and Feldenkrais weekly. The workshops cater for people who have not had any treatment with me and for people who know nothing about Reiki, Qigong or Feldenkrais. However, being longer, they let you sink more deeply into the healing modality. Each of these techniques works in its own unique way. Any of them will be beneficial as they create a balanced path to how your body and mind can operate even better.

Reiki

Reiki is one of the oldest and most widely taught ‘healing energy’.  It is originally from Japan.  Google Hayden Rolston and Reiki (he’s our Olympic Gold Medallist cyclist).

Think of Reiki as a gentle, hands-on technique that helps clear and balance your energy. It’s not about fixing one specific problem but restoring your body’s natural ability to heal itself. By working with the subtle flow of Reiki energy, Reiki may melt away stress and leave you feeling lighter and more at ease. When paired with CranioSacral work, it helps the body relax more deeply, potentially helping healing happen on an even deeper level.

Qigong

Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) means ‘working intensively with your energy. It is about simple, flowing movements combined with focused breathing. Also a lot of visualisation. Imagine standing outside on a breezy day and letting your arms be moved as if you’re swimming through the air, or with your eyes wide open and becoming like a tiger. It may be calming, energizing, and help you feel connected to your body. This practice may improve your energy flow, and when you combine it with CranioSacral Therapy, it may help your body hold onto that relaxed, balanced state for longer. It’s like giving your body a gentle re-tune to feel grounded and alive.

Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method is about awareness through movement. The nervous system learns something. It makes distinctions by slow focused, mindful movements that re-train your body to move more easily and comfortably. It’s especially helpful if you’ve had tension, injuries, or patterns that make certain areas feel stiff or restricted. If CranioSacral Therapy helps your body find calm, Feldenkrais takes it a step further by showing your bones, muscles and joints how to move without strain. This may create lasting relief and may make everyday activity feel smoother.

How These Practices Work Together

Together or separately, Reiki, Qigong, and Feldenkrais complement CranioSacral Therapy in a way that supports your whole self. Imagine CranioSacral as the foundation— it may unjam cranial bones or membranes, enabling bones, nerves and other fascia to move more easily. It may help you create a quiet, harmonious environment in the body. Reiki builds on that by calming your energy system and also getting to the cause of the problem. Qigong can compost negative emotions or clean out many of our vital orbits and energetic pathways in our body, it may bring movement and vitality to keep you balanced, and Feldenkrais teaches your Nervous System to make distinctions and to move in ways that may feel natural and pain-free.

The result? Potentially a more resilient body, a clearer mind, and a relaxed sense of being. These practices weave together to potentially help you manage stress better, move with ease, and feel more in tune with yourself. If you combine them, you’re not just addressing one part of your well-being but giving attention to how everything is connected. It’s a full-circle approach to feeling good, inside and out.
